We are a team of three entrepreneurs supported by a strong team around us. Annika, a former founder of a DPPaaS startup, supports us in due diligence with HR and finance. Mio brings deep expertise in AI and mobility technology, helping us assess the technical aspects of potential investments. Additionally, René Savelsberg, with his extensive experience in venture structuring and funding, provides valuable strategic insights.

Through our combined experience, we have developed a deep understanding of the key drivers in mobility. Our reputation in the sector makes us sought-after investors, driving strong deal flow. René Wiertz

FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

René Wiertz is a visionary entrepreneur and investor with a strong track record in scaling premium mobility brands. As the former owner and CEO of 3T, he transformed the company into a global leader in high-performance cycling, pioneering innovations like full-carbon aero gravel bikes. After selling 3T to an Italian family office in 2022, he co-founded Fundracer, an investment fund accelerating start-ups and scale-ups in micro-mobility. With expertise in strategic growth, brand positioning, and international expansion, René actively supports founders in building global businesses. Passionate about cycling, sustainability, and performance-driven technology, he continues to shape the future of mobility through smart capital and hands-on leadership.

Andy Ording

FOUNDING PARTNER

Andy Ording co-founded Fundracer in 2024 and is a key partner in the fund. He began his career at ZIPP as VP of Sales, later leading the company to become an industry leader after its acquisition. With expertise in business strategy, manufacturing, brand positioning, and global distribution, Andy has played a pivotal role in scaling businesses within the mobility sector. He is also the co-founder of Roadsigns, a mobile media company, and actively contributes to the industry as a board member at Silca, Push, and 6D Helmets. With a track record of building and investing in high-growth companies, Andy brings deep sector knowledge and strategic insight to Fundracer’s mission of supporting innovative start-ups and scale-ups.

Gérard Vroomen

FOUNDING PARTNER

Gérard co-founded Cervélo in 1995, building it into the world’s most profitable bike company and the top brand in triathlon and road racing. In 2010, he co-founded Open AG, pioneering the performance gravel category, and later became a partner at 3T in 2016. Alongside René Wiertz, he transformed 3T from a parts brand into a leading aero gravel bike company. Gérard has won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, holds dozens of patents, and has received numerous design awards for his innovations in cycling. Today, he is a co-founder and partner at Fundracer, leveraging his expertise to support and scale high-performance start-ups and scale-ups in the mobility sector.

Annika Fischer

VENTURE PARTNER FINANCE & HR

Annika Fischer is a dynamic leader at the intersection of corporate finance, HR, strategy, and innovation, driving impactful transformations. With a background in mathematics, she brings analytical precision to financial management, risk assessment, and organizational change, leading ventures across insurance, private equity, and sustainability. Currently, she serves as CFO and Head of HR at INUIKII, a Zurich-based sustainable footwear brand. Previously, she held leadership roles at Zurich Insurance and Odinga Ventures, managing complex financial portfolios and strategic initiatives, and co-founded a SaaS startup for sustainable fashion, pioneering digital solutions for circular economies. A cycling enthusiast with a serendipity mindset, Annika connects unconventional dots to unlock data-driven insights.

Mio Suzuki

VENTURE PARTNER AI & DEEP TECH

Mio Suzuki is a pioneering technology leader with over a decade of experience at the forefront of AI, data science, and outdoor consumer electronics. As the founder and director of the Advanced Technologies Team at Trek Bicycle Corporation, she spearheaded the development of UX-driven deep tech solutions, embedded hardware, and AI-powered innovations in e-bikes and cycling accessories. With expertise in system architecture, edge AI, and hardware-software integration, she excels in translating disruptive ideas into scalable, high-impact products. Passionate about elevating athlete performance and transforming user experiences, Mio thrives in cross-functional collaboration, strategic innovation, and outcome-driven leadership. Based in Los Gatos, CA, she continues to shape the future of cycling technology.

René Savelsberg

STRATEGIC ADVISOR

René S. began his career by joining a start-up while graduating, helping to grow the company for several years. He then embarked on an international career at Philips, where he became Head of the Corporate Venture Fund. Following this, he founded SET Ventures, Europe’s first climate tech fund focused on digital solutions for carbon-free energy systems, now managing €400 million in assets. Over his career, René has reviewed thousands of investment opportunities and has invested in nearly 100 start-ups and scale-ups. His deep expertise in venture capital and scaling businesses makes him a valuable strategic advisor to Fundracer, supporting its mission to back and grow the next generation of micro-mobility innovators.
