We are a team of three entrepreneurs supported by a VC veteran as a strategic advisor. In our careers, we gained vast knowledge in starting businesses, scaling them globally, acquiring and investing in start-ups and exiting successfully.
Through this experience, we have developed a deep understanding of the key drivers in mobility. Due to our reputation in the sector, we are sought after investors which drives deal flow.
Our investments are made primarily in Europe and North America, and are diversified over key focus areas while staying close to our expertise: safety, zero-emission transport and performance in the micro-mobility and cycling industry.

Who we are, what we do and where we come from.
FOUNDING PARTNER
René’s career combines skills in strategic finance, management and leadership and working for world-class enterprises. After a corporate career as VP of Corporate M&A at Philips Electronics, he acquired the defunct 3T brand name in 2007. René transformed the company into a global premium bike components brand.
He successfully pivoted 3T from components (a market which would soon decline) to (gravel) bikes (a fast-growing market). He acquired two companies (and spun off one) to integrate their technologies into an Italian carbon factory for 3T that could compete with Asia. After growing it into a leader in gravel, he sold 3T’s majority to a family fund in 2022.
FOUNDING PARTNER
Andy began his career in the bike industry at ZIPP as VP of Sales and, after the acquisition of the balance of the company, built it into the industry leader in carbon wheel design and manufacturing with its own state-of-the-art plant in Indianapolis, USA. He set the standard for the industry with the first carbon aero wheels in the pro peloton, the first carbon wheels to win Paris-Roubaix and the most used wheels at the Ironman World Championships. He successfully sold ZIPP to SRAM.
An expert in business strategy, manufacturing, brand positioning and global distribution, Andy is also the co-founder of Roadsigns – a mobile media company – and a Board member in the mobility space through Silca, Push and 6D Helmets.
FOUNDING PARTNER
Gérard co-founded Cervélo in 1995 and grew the company into the most profitable bike company in the world, making it the world’s largest triathlon bike company and the most desirable road bike company. He also founded Cervélo TestTeam, which topped the UCI World Ranking in June 2009 after operating for only five months.
In 2012, he sold Cervélo to PON and co-founded Open cycle AG, engineering the new performance ‘gravel’ category. Gerard became a partner in 3T in 2015, driving the transition from a component brand into a leading aero gravel bike brand together with René.
STRATEGIC ADVISOR
René joined a start-up while graduating from university and grew the company for 3 years before exiting successfully. After an international career at Philips Electronics, where he created and lead several projects including the Philips Corporate Venture Fund, he founded SET Ventures in 2007.
SET Ventures currently has €400 million assets under management and is the first climate tech fund in Europe solely focused on digital technologies for carbon free energy systems. With his vast investing experience, he supports the three Fundracer founders with strategic advice.
